YES, you will need a permit for the following...........
houses, modulars, cabins, trailers, storage containers, domes, yurts, barndiminiums, shomes, shouses, Morton buildings, yurts, house boats, silome, any metal, wood or plastic building, pole barns, porches, decks, sunrooms, garages, sheds, barns, lean-to's, greenhouses, tree houses, out houses, swimming pools, generators, platforms, stages, carports, ............etc..........

PERMIT APPLICATION STEPS:
All permit paperwork goes to Preston Township first. We will review it and contact you if we need additional paperwork. We then take it to our building inspector. They will review it and call you if there are any questions. After they approve your permit application it comes back to Preston Township. Preston Township will call you with the total fee amount. After Preston Township receives full payment via check made out to "Preston Township", we will process it into our system and make a laminated copy of your permit to hang at the work site. We will contact you when your permit is complete and ready for pick up. Your permit, receipts and one set of stamped plans/blueprints will be returned to you.
The permit expires in 1 year. If you need additional time to complete your project, please contact our office to ask for an extension.
